Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember information between requests or visits. They're a standard, widely-used part of how modern websites work — not something unique to DocNectar.

2. Cookies We Use

DocNectar uses a small number of cookies, all functional rather than for advertising:

• Session cookie — a standard, short-lived cookie (expires after about two hours of inactivity) that keeps basic site functionality working during your visit.
• Security cookie (CSRF token) — protects forms on the site (like the contact form and newsletter signup) from being submitted by malicious third-party sites on your behalf. Standard practice for any modern web application.
• Guest identity cookie (docnectar_session) — a random, anonymous identifier, kept for an extended period (up to around five years), so documents you generate and tools you favorite stay linked to your browser across visits without requiring an account.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies for cross-site tracking.

3. Local Storage

Separately from cookies, your browser's local storage (data that never leaves your device or gets sent to our servers) is used for:

• Theme preference — whether you're using light or dark mode.
• Recently viewed tools — a short list (up to 8) of tools you've recently opened.
• Favorites — tools you've starred, entirely on your device.

None of this is transmitted to DocNectar's servers or visible to us — it lives only in your browser.

4. Third-Party Cookies

This section reflects DocNectar's actual, current configuration — if either service is switched on in the future, this page updates automatically.

5. Controlling Cookies

You can control or disable cookies through your browser's settings at any time. Blocking the session or CSRF cookies may prevent some forms (like the contact form) from working correctly; blocking the guest identity cookie means favorited tools and generated documents won't persist between visits, but every calculator and generator will still work.
