Breadcrumb structured data (schema.org's BreadcrumbList type) can make Google show a clean navigation path — like "Home > Tools > JWT Decoder" — directly in search results instead of a raw URL, making your listing easier to scan and more clickable.
This generator builds a valid BreadcrumbList JSON-LD snippet from an ordered list of page names and URLs.
How it works
Add each level of your page's navigation path in order, from the homepage to the current page, with a name and URL for each. The tool builds a properly nested BreadcrumbList JSON-LD object with the correct position for each level.
- Add each breadcrumb level in order, from home to the current page.
- Click Generate to build the JSON-LD snippet.
- Copy the snippet into the page it describes.
Examples
A three-level breadcrumb
Home → Tools → JWT Decoder produces a BreadcrumbList with three ListItem entries at positions 1, 2, and 3.
Who should use it
- Adding breadcrumb rich result eligibility to a page with clear hierarchical navigation.
- Quickly producing valid JSON-LD without hand-nesting the ListItem array.
Industry applications
- SEO and content marketing
- Web development
Advantages
- Generates valid, properly ordered JSON-LD without manual position numbering.
- Strips HTML from names to avoid invalid structured data.
Limitations
- Structured data alone doesn't guarantee Google displays a breadcrumb rich result.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Marking up a breadcrumb path that doesn't match the page's actual visible navigation.
- Skipping a level or listing levels out of order, producing a path that doesn't reflect real site structure.
Best practices
- Keep the breadcrumb schema in sync with your actual visible breadcrumb navigation on the page.
- List levels in order from the homepage down to the current page, without skipping any level.
Tips
- If your site's navigation structure changes, regenerate the schema to match — Google's guidelines expect the markup to reflect the page's actual current navigation path.
